Shoots with Roots Daycamps

Kids working on a project

Our spring and summer daycamps offer an opportunity for children who love gardening, nature, and the outdoors to "go play outside" in a supervised environment. Each day involves some structured learning activities intended to deepen your child's understanding of gardening or our local ecosystem, and we often have the opportunity to learn from volunteer mentors such as local biologists, artists, and Master Gardeners. There is plenty of time in the Children's Food Garden including planting, harvesting, watering, and sampling vegetables. A good portion of the day is also spent in unstructured forest play activities such as fort building and exploring.

Children who participate in our daycamps spend almost all day outside learning, exploring, and laughing. They may come home with paint on their clothes or dirt on their knees, and always leave with big smiles on their faces. All programs are led by a BC Certified teacher.
