Dual Credit program

Are you a Grade 12 high school student? Did you know you can take programs and courses that earn you credit toward both high school graduation and post-secondary credentials?

What is Dual Credit?

With Dual Credit you can experience post-secondary school while you’re still in high school. Learn a professional skill that you can build upon after graduating. Take academic courses that count towards your first year of university.

What are the benefits of Dual Credit?

  • All academic courses are transferable to most universities.
  • Save tuition on first year university courses. Tuition fees for VIU Dual Credit programs and courses are covered by School District 47 (SD47).
  •  Lighten your workload for first year of university.
  •  Experience post-secondary life without leaving town, and learn what to expect as a post-secondary student.
  • Take advantage of small, interactive classes and personalized help and support from teachers who care deeply about your success.
  •  Jumpstart your professional career in Automotive or Carpentry and lay the foundation for an apprenticeship following graduation.
  •  Gain confidence in your ability to succeed beyond high school.
